News 11 January 2022 : Postal services to certain destinations subject to delay

Throughout the pandemic, Hongkong Post has been putting our best efforts to minimise the disruptions to our services. However, owing to insufficient air flight and sea container capacity, we regret that extra time may be required for conveyance of your mail items (including Speedpost) to the destinations despite the completion of local processes after posting. Please find the information in the table below. In addition, delivery operations of our overseas counterparts may also be affected due to the pandemic.

☆★IMPORTANT★☆ News 02 January 2022 : added two NEW shipping method for Australia and United States.

FOR AUSTRALIA : -> Vantage (Packet) is a new initiative of Hongkong Post that provides an economical and speedy international delivery service by combining postal strengths with advantages of quality international delivery service. 

FOR UNITED STATES* : -> Vantage (Courier) is a brand-new enterprise of Hongkong Post that provides an economical and speedy international delivery service by combining postal strengths with advantages of quality international couriers.

*Hong Kong Post Suspended all the air mailing service to United States, only provided freight mailing service to USA but need to spend 90-120 days during the influence of the pandemic, so that decided not to provide the freight mailing to avoid customers service issues.

☆★IMPORTANT★☆ News 01 January 2022 : Airmail services to Australia, Canada, United States suspended.

Hongkong Post announced today that, owing to the substantial reduction in flight frequencies or even cancellation of flights by airlines for certain destinations, all airmail services (including Speedpost) to Australia, Canada and the United States will be suspended from 01 January 2022 until further notice. Hongkong Post will continue working closely with air freight contractors for resumption of the impacted services as soon as possible.

In addition, airmail services to Belize, Christmas Island (Indian Ocean), Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Norfolk Islands will also be suspended in view of mail transiting via Australia and Mexico.

News 25 October 2021 : Latest dates of posting for Christmas air mail 2021.

Hongkong Post announced the latest dates of posting for this year's Christmas air mail. The dates are worked out based on the requirements of destination postal administrations. These dates and services are subject to availability of flight services and may be altered on short notice. To avoid delays, members of the public are advised to post earlier than the dates shown. As postal services to certain destinations are suspended, members of the public may visit the website of Hongkong Post ( on the service availability for overseas destinations before posting.

News 03 August 2021 : Written proof of delivery will not be provided by certain destinations.

Postal administrations of certain destinations have taken precautionary measures against the spread of COVID-19, all mail items (including mail item where signature for the receipt is required) addressed to these destinations will not be delivered in person, and thus written proof of delivery will not be provided under such circumstances. The tracking service for other mail items, subject to service types and destinations, will remain unchanged.

News 05 July 2021 : New Arrangements for EU Value-added Tax (VAT) and Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) (Effective from 1 July 2021).

According to the European Union (EU), for sending (including through postal channel) commercial goods (including merchandise sold online) to the business users (B2B) or consumers (B2C) in the EU, value-added tax (VAT) will be levied, irrespective of what the value is, from 1 July 2021 onwards. Major changes include:

1.) The existing VAT exemption for the importation of goods to EU countries with a value not exceeding €22 is removed.

2.) The sellers (senders) instead of the buyers (addressees) will be responsible for VAT payment.

3.) The EU has launched the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) to facilitate the declaration and payment of VAT by senders for the imported goods with a value not exceeding €150. have not registered with the IOSS, the buyer has to pay the VAT at the time of import for customs clearance before they could receive the goods according to the current procedures. Furthermore, additional surcharges incurred may be charged to the buyer. The delivery may also be subject to delay. The flow is listed below :
