Effective from 1 January 2020 (Wednesday), the postage rates of e-Express services will be revised. Due to the substantial increase on delivery charges levied by overseas postal administration, we have no other option but to increase our postage. The postage adjustment also reflects the increase in air conveyance cost and operating cost.

(I) e-Express Service

To help customers in alleviating the rather substantial postage increase, in particular for USA, Hong Kong Post will offer up to 10% discount for all destinations for a period of 3 months from 1 January to 31 March 2020.

Among the 43 destinations service coverage, a total of 15 destinations would have postage increase while the remaining 28 destinations would have postage reduction taking a 400 gram item weight as an example.

Details of the new postage rates of e-Express service is provided below:

(II) New customs declaration requirement for information

As advised by the postal administration of Brazil, starting from 1 January 2020, senders should include the tax ID number of the addressee in the importer reference field of the customs declaration form (CN23) for mail items addressed to Brazil. In Brazil, the tax ID number is known as CPF (format: 000.000.000-00) for natural persons and CNPJ (format: 00.000.000/0000-00) for legal persons.
