The main character of this festival is the moon.It's said the moon is the brightest and roundest on this day which means family reunion. And this is the main reason why people think mid-autumn is important.

The Chinese calendar is based on the moon. The Mid-Autumn Festival on August 15th of the Chinese Lunar Calendar.The Chinese festival is related to the seasons. Traditional Chinese farmers attach great importance to the lunar calendar and festivals.
